Sure has celebrated employee excellence across the business and presented three Guernsey staff members with Shine Awards.
The internal awards, which include a first, second and third placing for the overall Sure Shine Award, highlight employees that demonstrate Sure’s core values of being customer driven, establishing trust, working as one team and keeping it simple.
Head of service operations and access networks Tim Stonebridge was presented with the first prize Shine Award for leading his team and providing valuable technical advice to the various businesses in the Sure Group. He was commended by the executive committee for his engineering expertise, approachability and ability to communicate clearly to a diverse audience.
The second place Shine Award was given to technical billing analyst Kyna Walsh for her dedication to putting customers first and showing what it means to work as one team. It was noted that she lives the company’s values and is always understanding, efficient and hard-working.
Showcasing a proactive nature and a willingness to take on any challenge were the key reasons why business intelligence reporting analyst Steve Le Lerre won the third prize Shine Award. His ability to use his skills and knowledge to help solve a variety of issues across the business was recognised by the judges.
Business intelligence technical analyst Ian Manton and product and process architect James Crabb were both presented with the One Team Award for their can-do attitude and commitment to developing their technical knowledge for the benefit of their teams.
Professional services engineer manager and consultant Rob Taylor was awarded with the Customer First Award for his demonstration of core values and customer focus.
All Sure’s employees across the Crown Dependencies had the opportunity to nominate a colleague who met the criteria to receive an award. 16 employees were shortlisted and the winners were voted for by Sure’s executive committee.
The winners of the awards were presented with holiday vouchers and cash prizes.
Sure’s chief executive officer, Ian Kelly, said: “We are extremely proud to have such a hard-working and dedicated team at Sure and it is important that we celebrate both team and individual performance. The annual Shine Awards are a great way of highlighting those employees who go above–and-beyond and truly demonstrate excellence and commitment to Sure’s core values.
“We were very pleased to be named Employer of the Year at the 2016 Guernsey Awards for Achievement which recognised the initiatives we’ve implemented to successfully engage with our employees and continue to build an organisation that people enjoy working at and want to join. The Shine Awards is one of those initiatives and these Awards play an important role in fostering a culture and approach-to-business based on the company’s core values.”
