The X Factor’s Kitty Brucknell is starring in Guernsey’s first-ever Gay Pride.
Channel Islands Pride officially gets underway on Saturday 10 September with the big parade through Town and ending at Market Square where Miss Brucknell will perform.
The Cheltenham native is also hosting ‘Broadway with Kitty Brucknell’ the night before at the Venue at Fermain Valley Hotel.
She previously performed on the island earlier this year.
‘I did the Liberate Exhibitionist Ball and I had such a great time, I thought I should come over for Pride,’ said Miss Brucknell.
‘I’m super excited. It’s going to be brilliant.
‘We’re putting together our set list. It’ll be all my favourite pop songs on the Saturday night. For the Friday, it’ll be all my favourite Broadway songs but with my own take on them.’
The singer-songwriter took part in the 2011 series of ITV talent show and has remained one of it’s most memorable artists.
She finished seventh having made it through the ‘Boot Camp’ stage and being mentored by Louis Walsh.
Miss Brucknell has since moved to Los Angeles to push her career forward.
‘I moved out to LA in January and I’ve been working really hard writing songs,’ said Miss Brucknell.
‘I’ve been writing songs for a couple of people.’
The free Market Square concert on the evening of Saturday 10 September, features top local bands Buffalo Huddleston and the Space Pirates of Rocquaine.
Also performing is leading UK’s leading Dolly Parton tribute act, Paula Randell before Miss Brucknell wraps the night up.
The Broadway night is an all-ticket affair and the vice-chairperson Liberate, the joint-organisers of Channel Islands Pride, Ellie Jones, cannot wait for Miss Brucknell to arrive.
‘Kitty performed for us earlier this year at our Exhibitionist’s Ball and she blew everyone away’ said Miss Jones.
‘She performed two sets for us, one showcasing her new Broadway album and the other a party set that had everyone out of their seats and dancing. Her voice is phenomenal and we can’t wait to see her on stage at Pride and the Broadway evening on the Friday night - if you love Lady Gaga, Madonna then you will love what Kitty has in store for us.
‘The Broadway evening will be the perfect opening to Pride, a fun evening of drinks, canapés and some amazing live music from a very talented lady.’
