Cannabis worth up to £90,000 and £6,000 in cash was discovered in a blue BMW after a member of the public reported suspicious activity around the car.

Police were called to check out the car at Le Squez on Tuesday around 18:00 following the report.

They spoke to both of the car's occupants when they arrived, but one ran off.

Police then searched the car, in turn uncovering the substantial stash of the Class B drug.

In total, there were 50 bars of cannabis estimated to be between £70,000 and £90,000 in value and £6,000 in cash.

The items were seized and a 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled drug with intent to supply. He has since been released on bail.

Yesterday evening, the man's fellow car occupant, aged 24, turned himself in at Police Headquarters. He was arrested on possession and possession of a controlled drug with intent to supply. Police said he remains in custody.
