Annual Santa Dash fun run raises record-breaking total

Tuesday 24 December 2024

More than 400 Santas raced through the streets of St Helier earlier this month and raised a record-breaking £11,000 for a local palliative care charity.

Jersey Hospice Care's annual Santa Dash took place this year on Thursday 5 December 2024.

Marina Brockbank, Community Engagement Officer at Jersey Hospice Care, said: “I’m so thrilled with this year’s Santa Dash.

Not only did we have a brilliant turnout, but it also raised the most amount of money it’s ever raised – and that just shows how fantastic our dashers and their supporters are.

The money raised covers around a week’s worth of care on our In Patient Unit – so it makes a huge difference in supporting the work we do.

Thanks again to everyone who took part or supported our fun run – it was a great day!”

She added: A big thanks also goes to our sponsors, Ogier.

They both supported the event behind the scenes, and on the day, with more than 50 people taking part in the run itself, and an army of volunteers giving out Santa suits, medals, and mince pies!

Another thanks goes to Trudy Roscouet – AKA Mother Christmas – for getting all of our dashers warmed up and feeling festive before setting off.

We couldn’t put on the event without their support.
