"High-value" diamond and sapphire ring lost in taxi

Tuesday 25 June 2024

Police are appealing for information about a "high-value ring" which was lost in a taxi earlier this year.

The diamond and sapphire ring was misplaced on 23 February, and the owner is hopeful that a subsequent taxi passenger may have picked up the item without realising its true value.

The distinctive ring features a single oval Ceylon sapphire, surrounded by fourteen brilliant-cut diamonds, with an outer row of thirty tapered baguette-cut diamonds.

Police said: "Anyone who might have come across this ring can return it without any repercussions, and there is no need to reveal their identity."

Insurance company Insurance Corporation is also appealing to any jewellers who may have seen the ring, or who have been asked to value it, to contact police with any information.

CAN YOU HELP?

If you have found this ring, it can be handed into the front desk at the States of Jersey Police HQ on Route Du Fort between 08:00 and 20:00 any day of the week.
