Vehicle owners can get their tyres checked for free in St Helier car parks next week as part of a road safety initiative launched by the Government.
The checks will take place on Monday 7 October at Les Jardins Car Park, and Tuesday 8 October at Patriotic Car Park.
All vehicles parked in these locations on the respective days will receive a complimentary tyre inspection, and islanders can also visit for a check without needing to park, on a first-come, first-served basis.
No penalties will be issued for worn tyres, but DVS will recommend replacements if necessary.
The initiative is designed to collect data on the condition of tyres in Jersey, and raise awareness about tyre safety.
Staff from Driver and Vehicle Standards, and the Infrastructure and Environment Department's Road Safety team will conduct the checks after receiving training from UK charity TyreSafe and Translogik on using tyre measurement scanners.
TAF Tyres, a local business and TyreSafe supporter, will be on-site to offer advice and services for those needing tyre replacements.

Infrastructure Minister Andy Jehan said: "This is a great opportunity for commuters to get their tyres checked, for free, while also supporting us in gathering some data on the condition of tyres on our roads.
"Driving a vehicle comes with responsibilities, and the general advice is that tyres should be checked once a month or before a long journey.
"Unfortunately, I'm sure many islanders are not getting them checked regularly enough, resulting in some potentially dangerous vehicles on our roads.
"This initiative is all about increasing awareness on tyre safety and ultimately ensuring vehicle owners are informed and safe on the roads."
