Get ready to step into spring with free walking festival

Sunday 07 April 2024

Islanders are being encouraged to explore the best of the island on foot this spring with a free walking festival organised by the National Trust.

The National Trust for Jersey is staging its annual ‘Walking through Spring Festival' from 10 to 14 April.

It will offer a series of 30 walks throughout the island, with visits to National Trust sites as well as countryside, coastal trails, and urban areas.

The festival begins with a 'Wildlife and Wellness' walk along the coastal path at St Catherine's during sunrise, and ends with a walk along St Ouen's Bay as the sun sets.

In between, walkers can enjoy nature trails, forest therapy walks, parish, coastal, woodland, and wildflower walks, as well as town trails and history tours..‌

Donna Le Marrec, Marketing and Events Manager for The National Trust, said: "We're very fortunate to have many wonderful sites in our care and what better way to enjoy them, but in a walking festival?

"We're very grateful for Government support via the Connect Me scheme, as without it this activity wouldn't be possible."

The festival is being sponsored by Community Compass and the Government's 'Connect MeConnecting our Communities' grant scheme – an initiative to provide opportunities for Jersey residents to take part in cultural and physical activities.

All walks are free and can be booked HERE
