A man is in hospital after being stabbed in town on Christmas Eve.
Police say a 26-year-old man has now been arrested and is being held in custody on suspicion of committing the "serious assault" that reportedly took place on Vauxhall Street around 22:50 last night (Tuesday 24 December).
Describing the sequence of events in an appeal for more information, Police said: "The incident involved two white males and a white female and during the incident, one of the males sustained a stab injury which he is currently receiving medical treatment for at the General Hospital.
"The female also received injuries, however she has since been released from the care of the General Hospital."
