A free 12-hour party is taking place this weekend to celebrate the end of an era for ROJO's nightclub.
Every weekend, Express presents a selection of exhibitions, performances, workshops, events and other historic, creative and delicious content to help islanders get their weekly dose of culture.
Here's this week's offering...
After its closure was sadly announced at the end of last year, ROJO's final weekend has arrived.
With a massive line-up including over 30 DJs, ROJO's Grand Finale will be spread out over three floors including the roof terrace and is free to enter all day and night.
Wonky will be hosting the roof terrace party, including the opening of the 'secret bar'. The Loft will host the nightclub party and Stefan Rousseau's Jersey Funk All Stars will host the ground floor event, welcoming acts, live musicians and vocalists throughout.
Starting at 14:00 and going on until 02:00 on Saturday 27 July, it's sure to end the ROJO's era with a big bang.
ArtHouse is calling for Islanders to donate 100 more shirts or t-shirts by Sunday 5 August for the 'Dancing Together' exhibition by Finnish contemporary artist Kaarina Kaikkonen.
Shirts or t-shirts with "special meaning" will form part of a large scale public exhibition in St Helier using over 600 shirts that will stretch above the high street, which will be installed in August and stay in-situ until mid-October.
At the drop-off points around the island, those that donate will be asked to fill out an anonymous postcard about the significance of their donated shirt if they wish to do so. This could be anything from travel and adventure to loss of a loved one. Simply donating garments would still be appreciated.
After the town installation, the shirts will move to Capital House, where they will be exhibited from 7 November.
People can drop their shirts off between now and Sunday 5 August at the following locations:
Ransoms Garden Centre
Citizens Advice Jersey
Jersey Library
St Brelade Communicare Library
Mind Jersey Drop-In Centre
ArtHouse Jersey at Capital House
Butterfield at the IFC6
