The Weighbridge is going to be transformed London Olympics-style into a beach volleyball venue for the NatWest Island Games this summer.
Jersey is playing host to the games, which start in exactly 200 days and organisers have just announced that the beach volleyball event will be heading to the Weighbridge.
They say that around 650 tons of sand will be needed, as well as spectator seating and changing and shower facilities.
The Games will see 3,000 competitors from 24 islands descending on Jersey to compete in 14 different sports over a week, and Games director Steve Bailey says that the beach volleyball will be a spectacular event for town.
He said: “We are delighted to have got all the permissions we need to create what will be a fantastic venue.
“Because Jersey's tidal range is so large, the majority of most beaches are submerged twice a day, and it would have been impossible to erect all the facilities needed around the court.
“We have a fantastic venue, which is walking distance from the indoor volleyball venue, and islands have a few days left to register. It will be a great event, which I am sure will attract spectators and be a great competition."
The other events include football, archery, basketball, cycling, tennis, sailing and swimming, as well as athletics and shooting.
Simon Sand, Normans, Houze Construction, and Jersey Scaffolding are all providing materials and support to construct the court, and Channel 103 will be providing commentary and atmosphere at the event.
