Police are warning islanders to be on the lookout for two men posing as aerial installers, who they say are “up to no good.”
They said that they received reports this morning of two “suspicious men” driving a white Ford Transit van.
The men were said to have knocked on islanders’ doors, asking to fix their aerials – but the homeowners had not requested such a service.
Police are now urging islanders to keep their eyes peeled for the apparent aerial fix fraudsters, writing on social media: “PLEASE DON'T LET THEM IN TO YOUR HOUSE!! THEY ARE UP TO NO GOOD!!”
“If you have booked for tradespersons, please ask for ID before allowing them in,” they advised.
Islanders in need of further advice should contact Crime Reduction Officer PC Ingham on 612612.
