Big pawed moggie is home!

Thursday 18 June 2015

A four-year old moggie with unusually large paws who went walkabout from his home on Monday night sparking a police hunt and social media campaign to help find him - is now home safe and sound.

Hugo Huge Paws, an indoor car who’s never left home before, is having one big catnap after turning up outside his apartment on the outskirts of town in the early hours of this morning.

Owner Mark Evans said he heard meowing outside the window of his third-floor apartment in Duoro Terrace on Mont Pinel at 4am – only to find a hungry Hugo Huge Paws sitting on the narrow ledge outside.

Mark and his family had spent the last few days worried sick that he’d fallen out of a window and had been searching for him for days but it turns out he’d been hiding out in someone else’s apartment.

Mark said: “I was out last night looking for him until about 11pm and had set my alarm for 5am this morning to go out looking again, thank goodness I didn’t have to.

“He’s not really eating properly at the moment, he’s really greedy normally but other than that he’s fine.

"There have been so many people sending messages and really trying to help, people going out early morning and searching for him. It’s amazing how caring everyone in Jersey is towards pets and I just really want to say thanks to everyone.”
