Plans to spend £210 million on sewers over the next 20 years and to turn the Housing department into a States-owned company that can borrow money to build and refurbish homes are going to the States this week.
With the clock ticking down to the long summer recess before the election on 15 October, States Members have a lot to get through. This week’s sitting includes the two major debates on the Water Strategy, the incorporation of the Housing department, paying out £2.8 million to defrauded investors and updating the “food bonus” set up to cover the cost of GST for those who fall just outside the benefit threshold.
