We’re not saying Jersey’s posh or anything, but it turns out that Islanders are just as likely to own a Bugatti as a Reliant Robin.
In news that comes as a bit of a blow to those trying to maintain that Jersey is definitely, definitely not full of rich people, honest, the Department for Infrastructure has released details of all of the vehicles in the Island.
In total, there are 124,472 vehicles in the Island – or roughly 1.2 for every man, woman and child in Jersey – and a good proportion of them are from the top luxury marques.
The list released by the Department for Infrastructure – after an application under the Freedom of Information Law – shows that the 124,472 vehicles in Jersey include:
- 169 Aston Martins.
- 122 Ferraris.
- 82 Rolls Royces.
- 52 E-Type Jaguars.
- 15 Lamborghinis.
- 4 Bugattis.
- 4 Reliant Robins.
So there you go Jersey, if you really want an exclusive car, one that you’re not going to see half a dozen of at the supermarket, then don’t bother with an Aston or a Lambo – you’re better off with a three-wheeler.
