Of the 408 respondents to the survey, the popular vote was almost split between Tyler Edmonds’ School of Popular Music with just over 38% and Trevor Nicholls’ app idea EaseeDo coming in just under 37%.
The School of Popular Music is to be an instrument-learning experience like no other, according to Tyler, with pupils the opportunity to learn the instrument of their choice - guitar, drums, keyboards, voice, bass, ukulele, and many others are all on offer - while meeting fellow enthusiasts to develop every element of playing.
EaseeDo, meanwhile, is focused on helping those with learning and organisational difficulties. Inspired by his daughter's aspergers diagnosis, Trevor created the app, which allows users to create digital schedules, checklists and guides to help them in day-to-day life.
That doesn't mean that the other finalists, Health & Style Club and Talking Cents are out of the running, though. The two businesses that topped the poll are both Guernsey-based and will be presenting their pitch alongside the other two finalists in front of a panel of expert judges on 18 January.

The pitch of a lifetime stands between each of the finalists and winning a huge boost for their business or even get a major investor on board.
Over the last few weeks, Express has introduced each of the four finalists: EaseeDo, Health & Style Club, the School of Popular Music and Talking Cents.
The Academy is supported by Carey Olsen, NatWest International, Sancus, Savils, Start-up Guernsey, Envestors and Jersey Business.
