If you know who these people are, you could help the police solve a crime.
The States of Jersey Police has this morning launched a new “Caught on Camera” initiative appealing for the public’s help to identify people suspected of crimes.
The people wanted are:
The man pictured above, who is wanted in relation to an indecent assault on a woman at Liberation Station.
The man pictured above, who is wanted in relation to the theft of a bank card and the use of £1,600.
The woman pictured above, who is wanted in relation to a theft from Ransoms Garden Centre.
The first sets of pictures have already gone up on the police website.
Detective Inspector Craig Jackson says that the site is a new tool in their arsenal to solve crimes.
He said: “CCTV and other cameras play a fundamental role in investigating crime.
“We already use other channels, such as press releases to the media and our website to ask the public for help with identifying people in certain cases and this new gallery gives us another opportunity to do this.
“Most people nowadays have a Smart phone which helps to make this process so easy and it’s also a great way to involve the public and improve investigations when we do not know who a potential witness or suspect is.”
The idea is tried and tested among UK police forces, and the Jersey system is modelled on a successful scheme used by the West Yorkshire Police.
Det Insp Jackson also said that they would be using the site to publish images of stolen goods or anything else that might help them investigating unsolved crimes.
