Customs have seized cannabis worth up to £210,000 found in the suitcase of a Spanish man who arrived by boat.
Granada-born Diego Duenas Rodrigues arrived in Jersey from St. Malo on Wednesday 1 May.
Following an inspection of his suitcase, Customs and Immigration Service officials found 8.5kg of herbal cannabis, which they said had an estimated street value of between £170,000 and £210,000.
The 59-year-old appeared in the Magistrate's Court at 10:00 this morning, where he was charged for the importation of drugs.
