CBD store to take prime spot on Jersey's high street

A local CBD store will soon be expanding into a prime spot on Jersey's high street – taking over the home of a top island fashion retailer.

Bailiwick Botanicals will be opening at Roulette's home of many years on Queen Street later this summer.

The Guernsey-based business was founded in April 2021, and expanded into Jersey at the end of last year with a shop on Market Street.

From its current store on Market Street, Bailiwick Botanicals sells a range of CBD and hardware products.

The company says its "goal" is "bringing education and quality products to the medicinal cannabis community in the Channel Islands".

Rebecca Tucker of Bailiwick Botanicals said: “We’re excited to bring Bailiwick Botanicals to St Helier’s high street later this summer.

“Since opening at the end of last year, it’s become clear that, in order to better serve our current and potential customers, we need to move to a larger location.

"By doing so we’ll be able to stock an even more diverse range of CBD and hardware products for our customers to choose from.”

Earlier this year, Bailiwick Botanical's parent company The House of Green expanded into Europe with a joint venture with Proto Global GmbH, the German parent company of Schaeffer Nutraceuticals. This will see the firm relocate its fully operational cannabis extraction laboratory from Guernsey to Poland.

The partnership between The House of Green and Proto Global GmbH will also see Bailiwick Botanicals opening shops in Europe with Germany, Malta, Netherlands, and Czech Republic all likely locations as laws surrounding the legal use of cannabis for adults continues to change across the EU.

There are currently three Bailiwick Botanicals stores in the Channel Islands, which the firm said generated £700,000 in revenue in 2022. They are targeting revenue in excess of £1 million for 2023 by further expanding in Guernsey and Jersey. There are also established sales outlets in Alderney and Sark.
