A mini version boat of what appears to be a 15th century Swedish warship has sailed into Acorn's Reuse Shop in Trinity.
Bargain enthusiast Fiona Walker recently set up social media pages under the name 'Upstylejersey24' to showcase the interesting items she finds and to encourage islanders to do their own digging for treasure to support good causes.
Express is partnering with her to showcase her favourite bargains each week...
This week's find was a model boat found in Acorn's Reuse Centre in Trinity.
"You’ve heard of a ship in a bottle? Well here’s a boat in a box!," Fiona said.

"This extraordinary item was on sale at Acorn in Trinity this week for £80…it really is a one-off!"
And she appears to be correct – after doing some research into the piece, Express was unable to find an exact match for the boat elsewhere.
However, similar model boats featuring Swedish flags and adorned with multiple sails and partly blue hulls were linked to a 15th century Swedish warship, Vasa or Wasa, which was built between 1626 and 1628 and sank after sailing roughly 1,300 m into her maiden voyage on 10 August 1628.

Vasa, which had few survivors, had 64 guns onboard and a crew of 145 soldiers and 300 sailors.
Other model versions of Vasa are for sale online and vary in price depending on size and quality.
Acorn is Jersey's largest social enterprise, run by Jersey Employment Trust, which provides employment and training for people with disabilities and long-term health conditions. As well as the reuse centre, they run the Nursery, the Woodshack and Acorn Training and Development. To support the work they do, you can donate HERE or visit their website HERE.
For anyone who wants to follow in Fiona's footsteps and visit their Reuse Centre to grab their own bargain, here's where to head...
