£21.7m was paid out to businesses between September to December last year as part of the Government's job retention scheme - with hospitality taking the biggest slice of support.
The latest batch of stats from the Government give an insight into how local business fared during the winter months, with December topping the numbers with over a third of the payments.
The Co-Funded Payroll scheme was initially set up in April 2020, to help support businesses impacted by pandemic restrictions by offering to give employers a subsidy to help pay wages, if they could prove "material detriment."
The Government later released a breakdown of the payments, showing that between March and August 2020, £81m was paid out to local businesses, supporting 67,137 jobs.

With the scheme then extended into the winter months of 2020, the Government have now released a report giving an updated list of payments for September to December 2020, which saw around 5,000 jobs supported each month.
December - which saw all licensed premises close in a sudden 'circuit breaker' response to rising cases - makes up for a substantial amount of this quarter's payments, totalling at £7.6m for over 1,500 businesses.
Across the four months, hotels, restaurants and bars were once more the main claimants, being given £9,512,967.38 in payments.
However, unlike March to August, when construction was ranked the second most supported sector, things have now changed, with Education, Health and Other Services now in that spot with £2,718,577.46.
Of the claimants, the highest was the Royal Yacht, which claimed £600,387.60 to support up to 170 jobs over 4 months.
The Government also said that they have recovered £3,321,666.45 in repayments from 331 companies.
However, they have not confirmed whether this is part of the initial £5.3m they requested back from the first round of payments, or whether this is a separate amount from the winter payments.
The Co-funded Payroll Scheme is currently due to expire at the end of August. However, with high levels of covid in the community now having an impact, the recent push back of the final covid relaxations, businesses have been questioning whether it will be extended further.
