Islanders are being warned to be wary of concert tickets being sold on Facebook after scam posts began circulating.
The States of Jersey Police said the scam had been known to be advertised on the ‘Jersey Good and Bad Businesses’ page, among others.
Explaining how it works, officers said: "The person that appears to be placing the advert would seem like it's from a genuine Jersey resident.
"However, when asking for the money the person's email name and address does not match.
"If payment is made the person then states there is an issue with the transfer of the name of the tickets and requires further funds to change it into the buyer's name.
"This is a scam, no tickets are issued or available."
The Jersey Fraud Prevention Forum recently warned islanders to remain vigilant of scams, especially in the run-up to Christmas.
JFPF said there were 91 incidences of fraud between April and August this year, with islanders over the age 70 making up a quarter of victims.
Anyone who thinks they may have been targeted by fraudsters, or fallen victim to a scam, is urged to report it to the States police on 612612.
