Condor passengers planning to sail off to a half-term break this weekend are being asked to move their travel plans forward over fears that the weather will affect service.
In a statement, officials from the ferry operator warned that current forecasts for Friday, Saturday and Sunday suggested that there may be disruptions to the schedule.
“Condor constantly monitors weather forecasts and these currently indicate possible disruption to services this Friday, Saturday and Sunday (20-22 October). Forecasts are by their nature changeable so any alterations to our planned schedule will be provided as and when information becomes available and accurate,” a spokesperson said.
They added: “We recognise that this weekend marks an important travel period at the start of the school half-term holiday so invite passengers who are able to move their bookings forward to contact our contact centre or port offices and we will be happy to make the changes for them where space permits.”
The company has confirmed that they will not apply any amendment fees for passengers who wish to bring their travel forward from this weekend. A supplement will however apply if the same fare is not available on the changed service. Usual costs will apply if passengers choose to cancel their travel or for upgrades.
Current weather forecasts are showing rain across all three days, with winds of Force 6 to Force 7.
