Condor has confirmed it will be continuing its scheduled services between Jersey and France over the festive period despite an expected "significant drop" in demand following a ban on "non-essential" British travellers.
From midnight on Saturday, travellers will need an “essential reason” to be coming from the UK or Crown Dependencies – whether vaccinated or not.
French officials said that tourism or business travel would not be seen as valid reasons to enter the country.
French citizens and their families, as well as EU citizens travelling home via France, won't need an "essential" reason to travel, but they must still follow the rules for new arrivals.
Anyone entering France will also need a negative PCR or antigen test from the past 24 hours, and will have to isolate upon arrival at a registered address for seven days – or 48 hours if they can show a negative test.
Condor, which operates a direct link between the Channel Islands and Saint Malo, confirmed to Express that it plans to run its timetable from tomorrow (Friday 17 December) through to Monday 3 January.

Operations Director Elwyn Dop commented: "We want to provide schedule certainty to all our passengers that our sailings are to operate over the festive period, despite the latest change in regulations.
"We accept that there some Islanders may have concerns so want to reassure everyone of our commitment to maintaining connectivity with France."
