Royal Square cosmopolitan breakfast for a good cause

Saturday 30 September 2017

Your morning coffee could have a special flavour today! Jersey Cancer Relief is holding a 'Big Breakfast' in the Royal Square with cosmopolitan offerings of tasty treats, from sweet to savoury.

From 09:00 til 14:00, visitors will be able to sample breakfasts from different countries while helping raise awareness of JCR's activities and its funds.

The variety of breakfasts on offer will include French, Portuguese, Polish, Thai, Caribbean as well as organic options. Jersey Cancer Relief convinced local café and restaurant owners to take part to cater for everyone's morning cravings. Cocorico, Classic Catering, Spice of Live, Jersey Coffee Car and Moo will be among the stall owners present. A special treat for the youngest visitors, they will be able to get their face painted.

The charity breakfast is taking place at the same time as the 'Genuine Jersey' artisans' market which offers goods from producers and craft workers. This is the first time that the charity, which provides assistance to locals, individuals and families in Jersey who find it difficult to cope financially due to their illness, is organising such an event to raise awareness of its activities. Buckets will also be available for people to make a donation.

Anna Przybyszewska, a committee member at Jersey Cancer Relief, said that she hoped the event will be able to bring the community together. She said: "It's a small, charity-focused event. If we could make it an annual event it would be fantastic but for now we are just hoping that lots of people will join us for breakfast."
