A 21-year-old Jersey rapper, who was given 312 hours of community service last month for seven drug-related offences, including importing cannabis and intending to supply ecstasy, will have to pay the island more than £6,000 for his crimes.
On Friday, the Royal Court ruled that the amount Fabio Andre Geraldo Gomes had benefited from his offences – agreed by both the Crown and his defence to be £6,260 – should be confiscated by the Viscount’s Department.
However, at present, Gomes is unable to pay this, so a nominal £1 order was signed for the time being.
Gomes, who has more than 22,000 listens on one song on his ‘Fabio G’ Spotify profile, was represented in court by Advocate Allana Binnie.
