Goldfinger singer and musical legend Dame Shirley Bassey is the latest diamond to be announced as part of the star-studded Jersey Style Awards line-up.
Dame Shirley (80) is set to inaugurated into the ‘Style Hall of Fame’ after a glamorous 60-year career with over 135 million record sales at the red carpet event, which aims to firmly pin Jersey on the global style map by showcasing the Island’s brightest and best luxury fashion, food and tourism outlets – the shortlist of which (listed below) has been announced today.
She will walk the red carpet alongside renowned welsh fashion designer Julian Madonald, who will be crowned ‘Womenswear Designer of the Year’ and Californian swimwear awardee Melissa Odabash.
Male model Jacey Ethalion, who has appeared in campaigns for Guess, H&M and shoots for international editions of GQ magazine, will pick up ‘Style Icon 2017’, while Jersey resident Sir David Kirch will be honoured for his philanthropy work for the Island’s senior citizens.

A mystery “international music act” has also been announced for the evening event, which will be held on 24 June, but details have not yet been revealed.
Local businesses will also compete for the luxury titles, with winners hand-selected by a host of high-profile judges, including former Telegraph fashion director Hilary Alexander OBE, London Evening Standard and ES Magazine Fashion and Luxury Head, Maurice Mullen, and Amanda Statham, Travel Editor for Cosmopolitan.

Minister for Economic Development, Tourism Sport and Culture Deputy Murray Norton, commented: “This event isn’t just about a congratulatory nod; a nomination will make a big difference in terms of brand awareness to many local businesses and will show the world that there’s so much more to this little gem in the British Isles.
“With stars such as Dame Shirley Bassey descending upon our shores, a wonderful networking opportunity for all the nominees and global luxury brands such as Chopard supporting our endeavours, highlights that Jersey can absolutely punch above its weight in the style stakes.”
