Jersey’s newest Premier League footballer Luke Harris had a first-team competitive debut to forget last night - with his team Fulham being the biggest casualty of the second round of the league cup.
The 17-year-old former St. Clement’s Primary School player was in Marco Silva’s starting 11 for the first time, against Crawley Town in the Carabao Cup, but the Premier League team went down 2-0 to the League 2 outfit, who are 84 places below The Cottagers in the English divisions.
Marlon Fossey, was born in California but moved to Jersey as a child, also played for Fulham last night.
Fulham fan site Fulhamish gave Harris, who was subbed at half-time, 5/10 for his performance, adding: “We know that Luke has bags of potential, but he just didn’t get any chances to show it. Not sure left-wing is the best place to play a fox-in-the-box type forward.”

It gave Fossey 6.5/10 with the comment: “Bright start from the American, possibly should have capitalised more when he broke into good spaces early on. Was moved from right-wing to left-back at half-time, and he was reasonably solid there too.”
When at St Clement’s, Harris helped his side to lift the Danone Nations Cup in 2016, the first and only school in the Channel Islands to win the national primary school tournament.
