Nominations are now open for the Barclays Inspirational Woman of the Year 2018, who will be named as part of the annual event celebrating International Women’s Day in aid of the Jersey Women’s Refuge on 8 March.
The winner will be selected by the judging panel against a set of criteria including "demonstrating a selfless contribution in our community, making a significant difference to an individual or group, leading others to achieve greatness and being a role model for future generations."
Nomination forms for The Barclays Inspirational Woman of the Year 2018 can be obtained online or from Barclays Library Place branch. They must be returned before 23 February. The panel will judge nominations and those shortlisted will be contacted by 2 March.
Jenny New, Director at Barclays said: “I am delighted that Barclays is sponsoring the event again on this important day. The theme for this year’s breakfast is #pressforprogress and the subject of the discussion for the morning will be, “The Gender Agenda,” the goal of which is to achieve equality through change, irrespective of gender.”
Marine Oliviera of Jersey Women’s Refuge said: “All genders can feel anchored to traditional roles rather than following their true vocation. An event like this presents an opportunity to discuss what change can look like and how and when equality can be achieved."
