Police are investigating after a driver was trapped in a car after a crash early this morning in St Peter.

The incident happened when a BMW collided with a Ford on a lane in St Peter at around 6.55 am.

The driver who was trapped was treated by paramedics at the scene, but their injuries were not thought to be “life threatening” by the Jersey Fire and Rescue Service.

Six firefighters were called out to the crash with a fire appliance and a dedicated rescue tender – they had to use hydraulic cutting equipment to free the trapped driver.

Crew Commander Craig Channing said: “The trapped occupant was initially treated at scene prior to our arrival by Paramedics and their condition is not suspected at this time to be life threatening.”
