Early hours air search for missing woman

Monday 27 July 2020

The Channel Islands Air Search plane was called out in the early hours of this morning to help find a missing 65-year-old woman.

The thermal imaging-equipped 2CIAS aircraft was spotted circulating at less than 2,000ft in the area of St. Martin and Grouville for around two hours before returning after 04:00.

The search came around two hours after Police reported on social media that they were “concerned for the welfare” of Elizabeth McDougall.

The 65-year-old was reported missing last night just after 21:40.

Police said they had limited information about Ms McDougall's clothing at the time she went missing, but said she was believed to be wearing a green parka jacket.

She was last seen in the area of La Route de la Hougue Bie in St. Martin around 17:00 on Sunday 26 July.

They told Express they are currently working with Jersey Fire and Rescue Service, Jersey Air Search Rescue, the Honorary Police and Jersey Water on finding her.

Officers are urging anyone who has seen her or has more information about her whereabouts to call 612612, selecting Option 2.
