A lifeboat was called out to Havre des Pas for an emergency rescue last night after members of the public heard shouts for help from the sea.
Jersey Fire and Rescue launched their Inshore Rescue Lifeboat from Havre des Pas slipway around 19:00 on Friday after receiving a call from Jersey Coastguard.
The team of five Green Watch crew quickly searched the area and found someone stranded on rocks.
They were rescued and returned to the shore "safe and well".
Crew Commandar Mathew Coote has since urged the public to be careful around the coast in the evenings.
"Always check the state of tide when venturing out into coastal areas and carry a charged mobile phone," he advised.
"If you see or hear anyone in trouble in the water do not attempt to enter the water but always call 999 and ask for the Coastguard."
