Friday 07 June 2019

A man in his 30s was arrested in the hospital’s Emergency Department last night over his alleged involvement in a fight on a town estate.

Police said the three-to-four man scuffle, which saw two men sustain minor injuries to their faces, took place between 23:30 and midnight on Thursday on Windsor Road.

After receiving a report of a group of men fighting, they headed to Windsor Court – formerly known as Caesarea Court.

Three men were spoken to – among which was a 33-year-old who was arrested on suspicion of grave and criminal assault while he attended A&E for medical treatment.

Police added that a fourth man was believed to be involved in the alleged fight, but that his identity remains unknown.

They are therefore urging islanders who saw what happened or have more information to get in contact by calling 612612. Anonymous online reports can also be made via the Crimestoppers website.
