Today's exit poll shows three clear leaders at the top the poll - but after that, just a few votes could separate the winners and losers. Bailiwick Express polled three hundred randomly selected voters immediately after they had cast their ballots.
The results show Senator Sir Philip Bailhache first (56%), Senator Alan Maclean second (52%) and Deputy Andrew Green in third (51%). But after that, it looks set to be a very close election. Senators Paul Routier (46%), Lyndon Farnham (45%) and Ian Gorst (45%) may well be fighting a tough battle for positions four, five and six.
In the exit poll, they were split by just three votes.
Following them is the Treasury Minister Senator Philip Ozouf on 41%, and Senator Sarah Ferguson on 37%. But with Dr Zoe Cameron close behind on 36%, the contest for those final two positions also seems too close to call.
With the exit poll being made up of a randomly selected sample, the margin of error would be enough to change around those positions, making this a very tight election to call.
At the bottom of the poll came David Richardson, who polled 7% of the sample.
