Festival sets up camp again to spice up Grouville

Monday 01 September 2014

Hand-made yurts will be camping out on Grouville common later this month as Spice returns for its festival of Arts and Music.

The event, now in its fourth year, promotes local talent and attracts Jersey artists, makers, producers, small businesses and musicians who are getting together on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 September to spice up the weekend.

This year promises a fantastic music line-up with Made in China, Benny and The Moth, Acres, Smooth Hounds, Run For Cover, Kevin Pallot, Rood Mood and The Blind Drivers all playing acoustics.

Spice is a registered charity and its main event has grown considerably over the last four years. This year’s festival is offering something for all ages with interactive drama workshops for kids and story telling for younger children as well as Capoeira and Break Dancing workshops.

Meanwhile adults can try out therapies like Massage, Reflexology, Reiki, Indian Head Massage and Homeopathy or just sit back and relax with a cuppa in the popular  Chai Mamas Tea Tent.

The festival kicks off each day at 10 am and you can find out more about the event at www.spicejsy.com
