Fire service called to scene of gas leak in St Helier

Friday 04 October 2024

Islanders are being asked to avoid the Palmyra Road area of St Helier due to a gas leak.

Residents in the area – which is between Midvale Road and Val Plaisant – are being asked to stay indoors and keep windows closed.

Jersey Fire and Rescue Service crews are on the scene, and Island Energy has been informed.

In a post on social media, the Fire Service said: "Residents in the Palmyra Road area are asked to stay indoors and keep your windows closed, due to a gas leak.

"If you're not at home, please avoid the area in the meantime.

"Our crews are on scene, and Island Energy has been informed."

Express has contacted Island Energy for comment.
