Fire fighters in Jersey spent their Liberation Day afternoon tackling a large fire on open land in St Brelade, and have now issued a warning to islanders to be careful about accidentally starting a fire after the long period of relatively dry weather.
The fire destroyed an area covering 1,600 sqm between the Railway Walk and La Moye Golf Club - and the fire service says that if the wind had been blowing in a different direction, it could have been much worse.
They are now urging people to be careful when disposing of their BBQ's or cigarettes and if they are having bonfires - the exact cause of this fire hasn't yet been released, and is being investigated by the Police.
Members of the public have been urged to be careful when disposing of BBQ's and cigarettes during periods of dry weather.
