A Jersey restaurant has smoked, fried, sizzled and seared its way into an elite group of 15 UK restaurants after being awarded one of the industry’s highest accolades.
Michelin-starred Bohemia became the first restaurant in the Channel Islands to be awarded five AA Rosettes at a glittering ceremony in London this week.
The award will now see it rise to the ranks of fellow elite dining establishments, including Heston Blumenthal’s famed The Fat Duck and Le Manoir aux Quat’ Saisons.

The highest AA ranking that can be achieved, five rosettes are awarded when a restaurant has reached “the pinnacle of achievement” in flavour, texture and appearance.
Head Chef Steve Smith described himself as “delighted and lost for words” after learning of the award.
“This is an enormous accomplishment and I will be celebrating with my whole team at Bohemia. We strive to create unique and innovative menus for our customers so that they have an exceptional dining experience, therefore I am truly delighted that the hard work of our fantastic team at Bohemia has been rewarded,” he added.

The rosettes add to the St Helier-based restaurant’s existing set of achievements. It was recently ranked 11th in the UK in the 2018 Good Food Guide, and 42nd in Square Meal’s top 100 restaurants – the only Channel Islands establishment to feature in both lists. It was also honoured on prominent wine list awards this year.
