A former musical director of the world's largest theatrical production company, Live Nation, has been appointed to lead the island's performing arts community.
Tim Evans will start as Chair of the Performing Arts Development Group – which represents the island's performing arts organisations and clubs – at the end of January.
This comes after the resignation of the group's current head, Ryan Williams, who is to join the Jersey Opera House board as a Non-Executive Director.
Mr Williams had led the Performing Arts Development Group through a challenging time, that included the covid-19 pandemic and years of uncertainty over the future of the Opera House.

He said: "I am very proud of the fantastic and vibrant programmes offered at Jersey Arts Centre, Royal Jersey Showground and other fantastic local performing arts clubs.
“Members of the PADG are really pleased with the progress made from Government with regard to the recent publication of the Arts Strategy and implementation of the Creative Island Partnership, these are all very positive signs of the commitment shown by Government for a diverse and creative community, benefiting both performers and audiences."
New Chair Mr Evans has experience working with some of the world's largest theatre companies as well as at the helm of his own Jersey-based production company, TimpanAli Productions, which he founded alongside Alastair Walkinshaw.

Mr Williams said he would continue the group's "strong and ongoing relationship with Government" and that this was "the perfect time for a new Chair to take over".
Mr Evans thanked Mr Williams for his leadership during such an uncertain period and added: "We should all be grateful that through his leadership, a few years ago politicians agreed that come what may, the Jersey Opera House would re-open.
"I look forward to taking over the chair of the PADG and leading the performing arts into what should be a very bright future.”
Mr Evans is due to start the role this month.
