Andy Howell has announced that she will be standing for election as Deputy, in the new District 3 which includes St John, St Lawrence & Trinity.
The mother-of-three intends to put her name forward in the forthcoming General Election on the 22 June this year.
Mrs Howell is a former Dentist, and is married to a retired GP - she says she wants to "...ensure positive change within our healthcare system, so that our frontline staff are cherished, and patient care is the number one priority."
She has volunteered for Meals on Wheels and the Trinity Community support group, having previously been Almoner of Trinity Church. Additionally, she has been a Parent Governor for Jersey College for Girls and President of Helvetia Division of St John’s Ambulance, Jersey.
If elected, Mrs Howell says she will, "...work to make housing more affordable, whilst ensuring green fields are retained and our precious environment is protected, so we leave Jersey better than we found it."
She is promising listen to Islanders and work collaboratively, aiming to be part of a Government that is open, transparent and accountable, one which makes sensible and sound financial decisions.
