Foster families enjoy Easter fun

Tuesday 26 March 2024

Jersey's fostering families recently enjoyed a morning of Easter-themed activities.

Fifteen foster carers and 10 children took part in the celebrations, which were part of a series of regular support activities.

The Easter-themed session included outdoor games, meeting the Easter Bunny, an Easter egg hunt, and brunch.

Children and Families Minister, Constable Richard Vibert, attended the event.

Constable Vibert said: “Social gatherings like this are such an important part of the foster carer support offer.

"It’s about being part of a community of like-minded people who want nothing more than to see children enjoy, achieve and thrive."

He added: “These types of events provide a safe space where carers can confide in each other and share experiences and techniques that have helped them. This ultimately helps the child.

"They are an important part of the support and guidance provided for foster carers and an opportunity to say thank you for their hard work and dedication.”
