A fundraiser to help the vice-president of the Jersey Motorcycle and Light Car Club and his family with medical costs after he sustained significant head and spinal injuries has raised thousands of pounds since it was launched.
The island's motorsports community has come together to support John Le Monnier and his family following an accident last Sunday.
A JustGiving page, started by rider Kieran Gregory, explained that Mr le Monnier sustained "significant and life changing head and spinal injuries".
"John has been flown to Southampton hospital where he will undergo emergency surgery to try and stabilise his neck and spine in the hope that he may be able to regain feeling again in his limbs," it said.
"John’s close family members have flown across to be by his side and so we would like to do what we can to try and reduce any financial burden for them during this time."

It continued: "Johns family have been advised that at this stage it’s likely that John is going remain in Southampton hospital for a minimum of 12 weeks.
"We would like to help cover the costs to allow Johns family to remain by his side throughout this period and assist with any other medical costs and requirements in the future as they arise."
