A keen game developer has launched a Facebook page looking to bring together Guernsey and Jersey’s game developer community.
Paul Arnold is the Managing Director of Lapin Logic – an educational games development company – and he is looking for people to join Channel Island Game Developers, a Facebook page he launched in September.
“It has been launched to encourage game development in Guernsey and Jersey and all the other Channel Islands... I don’t think enough [has been done to support developers], so I thought I’d set up this group to push it a bit further,” he said.
Lapin Logic is a computer games company and Paul is aiming to launch a computer game later this year.
“I’ve been quite surprised to find out how many [game developers] there are... I’m hoping to get the group to 100 members by the end of year," he explained.
“There’s a few different game engines you can use... and it’s a team effort, I’m a coder, we’ve got an artist, a composer... all sorts of different people are collaborating together and I’m hoping this is what this group will help facilitate.
“I’m hoping groups will form within this community and people end up setting up their own companies.”

Paul said he has always been interested in game development.
“In the end I decided to create my own company. I teamed up with some of my friends from university and we’ve been working on several different projects.”
Paul’s new group already has over 75 members and you can find out more HERE.
