Teens will be offered the opportunity to helm a RIB next month at a special event aimed at encouraging young islanders to get out on the water.
Ports of Jersey has teamed up with Le Mourier Swim-Sea-Save and South Pier Marine to hold the 'Get Afloat' event on Saturday 7 September at Albert Pier and in the harbour.
The day is aimed at young people aged 13 to 18 hoping to develop an interest in RIBs and sailing boats.

Teens will be offered the opportunity to helm a RIB under the guidance of instructors, and have a go at dinghy sailing.
Yacht clubs and other organisations will offer tips about how to get into boating, and attendees will be able to find out about the RYA boat handling courses, VHF and first aid courses as well as local conservation initiatives.
The Coastguard will be teaching more about sea safety, and there will be the option to learn about getting afloat for the less mobile.
Get Afloat organiser Michel Le Moine said: "We understand that it can be difficult for young people to get into sailing and powerboating if it's not something their friends and family already do.
"So we'd like to demystify these hobbies, give interested people a chance to try them out, and explain how they can get into boating without having to own a vessel."
Groups attending the day include: Royal Channel Islands Yacht Club, St Helier Yacht Club, St Catherine's Yacht Club, Wet Wheels, Jersey Youth Service, Jersey Marine Conservation, Jersey Coastguard, RNLI beach lifeguards, Empire Catering, and the Les Quennevais School steel band.
Mr Le Moine added: "This day is designed to be fun, informative and inspiring, so I hope as many young people as possible will come along to give boating a go."
