Durrell are appealing for Islanders to do a spot of bird watching and help them find Arthur - one of their rare choughs who escaped from his aviary last week.
Their breeding male flew off last Wednesday and although there have since been sightings of him in Gorey Castle and around Les Platons in St John, Arthur is still on the loose.
Durrell's partner organisation Birds on the Edge who are working to stop the decline of Jersey’s birds, also need help finding two other local choughs who haven’t been able to track down for over a month.
One of them was last seen at Noirmont Manor but then disappeared again. They are now desperate to know whether these birds are still alive and on the Island.
The Red-billed chough is a member of the crow family. It has a striking long red bill and a distinctive high-pitched shrill. For more information on how to identify a chough, you can go to www.birdsontheedge.org/seen-a-chough.
