Jersey Electricity has issued reassurance that Jersey's electricity network "remains safe and secure" after islanders reported flickering lights and fluctuating power.
The utility company posted on social media to explain that the short dips in power were due to heavy snow in Normandy impacting the overhead electricity network, which is imported into Jersey.
We’re aware that the power supply is occasionally dipping due to heavy snow in Normandie affecting the overhead electricity network (which we import). As the snow melts, this will start happening less frequently.
