A police investigation has been launched after a body was recovered by a trawler in Jersey waters.
The body of a man in his 40s was found on Wednesday 15 January.
The States of Jersey Police today confirmed it was investigating whether it is that of a British national who went missing on a ferry from Portsmouth to St Malo four days earlier.
A police spokesperson said: “The body of a male has been recovered.
“We are currently investigating this in consultation with the Coroner’s office.
“The family is being supported while we formally identify this individual.
“Our thoughts are with them during this difficult time.”
