Islanders are being reminded to check the tides before venturing out on coastal walks after a pair of dog walkers had to be rescued.
Two people and their dogs were cut off by an incoming tide at La Rocque, Jersey Fire and Rescue have said.
After Jersey Coastguard raised the alarm, a Fire & Rescue crew in a 4×4 car responded along with an inshore rescue boat.
“The two people weren’t familiar with the Island and had been caught out by the rapid rising tide,” Jersey Fire and Rescue wrote on Facebook.
“Jersey Coastguard and Jersey Fire and Rescue would like to remind everyone about the risks associated with the large tidal range of the Island and to check the tides before venturing out on coastal walks at low tide.”
No-one was injured in the incident, they added.
