The three-day Barclays Jersey Boat Show was a resounding sucess for traders and public alike with around 38,000 people attending the Channel Islands' biggest free to enter event.
The Boat show which is organised by Jersey Marinas on behalf of Ports of Jersey saw an increased number of traders and a larger presence from the Royal Navy who also put on a static display in the Weighbridge. Around 10,000 people visited the pontoons and several large vessels were sold in a successful weekend's trading.
Alan Donald, Group Marketing & Communications Manager for Ports of Jersey, said the weather helped and it meant visitor numbers were on a par with last year: "We have already had people expressing an interest in next year's show. This year was one of our best yet with more exhibitors, including local companies and some great activities such as stand-up paddle boarding and kayaking. The feedback has been positive from both traders and the general public, and it was a great example of the true Jersey community spirit."
The show was open from Saturday through to Monday with entertainment and a various refreshment stalls. It offered the opportunity to get on board a variety of watercraft from aspirational super yachts to more practical boats. Members of the public were able to visit HMS SEVERN and go aboard the States of Jersey Tug, the Duke of Normandy. There was also the opportunity to have a free rib trip.
The show was sponsored by Barclays.
