All arrivals into Jersey from Guernsey will now be marked as 'red' after covid case numbers in the island rose to 142.
The travel classification change, which also affects Alderney, Sark and Herm, means that anyone arriving in Jersey from the islands will have to isolate for at least 10 days, only leaving quarantine after a Day 10 negative test.
The change coincides the first time covid case numbers in Guernsey have outstripped those in Jersey, which currently stand at 117, in many months.
We now have 142 (known) active cases of COVID-19. One patient with COVID-19 is currently in hospital, but they were admitted for another health reason.

The island, which has been following an elimination strategy, went into lockdown on Saturday after cases of unknown source were identified in the community.
Schools on the island are currently closed to all students - even those of essential workers - and Chief Minister Deputy Peter Ferbrache said yesterday that it is “much more likely than not” that schools will be closed again next week.
The Civil Contingencies Authority - the island’s emergency decision-making body - is also currently considering whether to make the use of face coverings in public places mandatory.
Many of the island’s cases stem from an unknown community source, while others have been linked to two pubs: The Ship and Crown and The Crow’s Nest.
Anyone that visited those premises between 18 and 22 January has been urged to quarantine for 14 days, even if they don’t have symptoms.
Those with symptoms are being told to book a covid test.
