Six airport firefighters have successfully climbed the highest mountains in the UK in a single day to raise funds for a charity that provides free football sessions for disabled young people.
The Three Peaks Challenge – which involves scaling Snowdon in Wales, Scafell Pike in England and Ben Nevis in Scotland in under 24 hours – began on Wednesday.
The team, consisting of Ross Aley, Curtis Monks, Jack Langford, Mark Ray, Neil Harvey, and Marcin Mietelka, completed the challenge in 23 hours and 36 minutes.
Picutred: Six Airport firefighters successfully completed the the Three Peaks Challenge earlier this week.
They were joined by their recently retired colleague, Alan Bertram, who provided support by driving and assisting the group during the journey.
So far, the firefighters have raised £2,650 for Soccer Stars Juniors, a charity founded by team member Mr Ray that offers free football sessions for young people with learning or physical disabilities.
Donations to support their efforts can still be made via their JustGiving page HERE.
